The Michelin Guide Thailand 2027 has started to arrive: on 3 November 2026 Michelin published its Bib Gourmand list, with 151 restaurants across the country, 26 of them new. Nine of the newcomers are in Bangkok. The stars follow on Tuesday 10 November 2026, when Michelin reveals the full 2027 selection at a ceremony streamed on its YouTube channel.

The 2027 Bib Gourmand list in numbers

Michelin’s announcement marks the guide’s tenth edition in Thailand. The number of first-time Bib Gourmand entries doubled, from 13 last year to 26 this year, and the total rose from 137 to 151.

The largest group is “Bangkok & Surrounding Provinces” with 49 Bib Gourmands, nine of them new. Chiang Mai and Phuket have 20 each, and the north-eastern provinces of Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani have 28 between them. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, said: “This year’s MICHELIN Bib Gourmand selection continues to uncover a wealth of hidden gems across Thailand.”

What each newcomer serves

  • Duck Noodle House is a second-generation family shop in the old riverside quarter of Talat Noi, built around braised duck and goose with flat egg noodles.
  • Gokfayuen is run by Hong Kong-born owners who make their noodles and chilli sauce in house. Michelin points diners to the shrimp roe dry noodles with tiger prawn wontons.
  • Jay Ngor Beef Noodle has been going for about 70 years and is now in its fourth generation, serving braised beef and beef hotpot with or without noodles.
  • Kamkinsuk cooks family recipes from Phrae province with gentle spicing, including rice noodles in a clear pork broth, and offers vegetarian options.
  • KAO SOY PRIN is a small shop on the fifth floor of Dusit Central Park, where a chef-owner from Lampang serves khao soi in coconut curry or as a clear broth.
  • Mae Prapha Crispy Pancake (Phra Nakhon) is a stall near Khao San Road that has made khanom buang, small crisp pancakes with sweet or savoury toppings, for more than 50 years.
  • Mae Thum Padthai Kheng, near Bangkok City Hall, cooks six versions of pad thai, including one with deep-fried egg noodles.
  • Rue Poh is a family-run seafood kitchen in Prawet that cooks fresh seafood to order, with a signature stir-fry based on a 50-year-old family recipe.
  • SANE in Taling Chan cooks Central and Southern Thai dishes, with curry pastes and coconut milk made from scratch.

Michelin stars: what happens on 10 November

Michelin’s save-the-date notice says the full Michelin Guide Thailand 2027 selection, this year’s star recipients and five Special Awards will be revealed on Tuesday 10 November 2026, one week after the Bib Gourmand list. The ceremony is invitation-only, but the livestream on the MICHELIN Guide YouTube channel starts at 10:15 Bangkok time. The venue has not been named on Michelin’s page and is to be announced.

Until then, no 2027 star results are public. This article will be updated once Michelin publishes them.

Michelin stars in Bangkok in the current 2026 guide

The 2026 guide, revealed on 27 November 2025, lists 43 starred restaurants in Thailand, and 39 of them are in Bangkok. All of the country’s two three-star restaurants, Sorn and Sühring, are in the capital, and so are all eight two-star restaurants.

Bangkok also holds 29 of Thailand’s 33 one-star restaurants; the other four are in Nonthaburi, Phuket and Phang-nga. The 2026 edition counted 468 restaurants in all, including 137 Bib Gourmands and 288 MICHELIN Selected restaurants.

Stars, Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Selected explained

Michelin says its stars reward cooking alone, judged on five criteria: quality of ingredients, harmony of flavours, mastery of technique, the chef’s personality as expressed in the food, and consistency across the menu and over time. One star marks top-quality cooking, two stars mean the chef’s personality and talent are evident, and three stars are for superlative cooking. Inspectors book under an assumed name and pay their bills in full.

The Bib Gourmand Bangkok list is a separate award for good-quality, good-value cooking, which is why so many entries are noodle shops and street stalls. MICHELIN Selected restaurants hold neither a star nor a Bib Gourmand but are still listed as worth a visit in the guide.

Planning a visit

Opening hours, queues and booking policies differ from shop to shop, so check each restaurant’s Michelin page or its own channels before you go. Many of the newcomers are small family businesses rather than formal dining rooms.
