Performing arts schools in Bangkok: a guide for parents

Drama, musical theatre, dance, singing and degree courses in Bangkok: who teaches what, for which ages, where, and the questions to ask before you enrol.

Parents looking for performing arts schools in Bangkok can choose from English-language drama studios, a teen acting course, a ballet school, a university music campus with children’s classes, and degree programmes for school leavers. This guide, checked on 6 November 2026 and updated on 7 November, lists ten organisations: Gozen Arts first (see the note at the end), then the rest by discipline and in alphabetical order, with what each says it teaches, the ages it states, its area and its official link.

Nothing here is a ranking. Each entry uses only what the organisation’s own site, or a listing we cite, says; where a site gives no age range or fee, we say so, and the answer is to contact the school.

Drama, acting and musical theatre

Gozen Arts. A performing arts school for ages 4-17 that teaches singing, dancing and acting, mainly in English with Thai support from bilingual teachers, according to its FAQ. It has two campuses: Ari, at Saki Studio, which its site places a three-minute walk from BTS Ari exit 3, and Rama 9, inside Bravo BKK.

Its courses are private lessons in singing, acting and dance, at a campus or at home, including preparation for Trinity College London, RAD and LAMDA exams; DanSing, a four-week singing-and-dance module for ages 4-7, 8-12 and 13-17 that ends with a mini-showcase for parents, with new groups starting every month; and a musical theatre course for ages 5-17 built on an original musical written for each cast, with 4 hours of private coaching and 16 hours of weekend group rehearsals, a solo song for every lead student and a costume to keep. Fees are not published; enquiries go through its LINE account. gozen-arts.com

Bangkok Community Theatre. An English-language community theatre company whose site says it runs workshops “ranging from acting to producing throughout the year” and welcomes non-native English speakers as members. The site gives no ages or venue for workshops and points to its Facebook and Instagram pages for upcoming events. Families with teenagers should ask directly what young people can join. bangkokcommunitytheatre.com

How to choose a drama school in Bangkok

Start with what your child already enjoys. A child who sings around the house may suit a voice class or a musical theatre camp; one who likes making up stories may suit drama; one who wants structure and steady progress may suit ballet or graded exams.

A trial class or a holiday camp is a low-commitment way to test interest. Several studios above run camps in school holidays, and CurtainCall’s site offers a free trial class.

Questions to ask before you enrol

  • How big is each class, and how many teachers are in the room? Some schools publish limits (12 or 15 students); others will tell you if you ask.
  • What language is the class taught in? Many Bangkok studios work in English, Thai or both, but few state it on their sites.
  • Is there a performance, and does every child get a part? Ask whether there is a showcase at the end of term, where it takes place, and whether there is a costume or production fee.
  • Are there exams? Gozen Arts names Trinity College London, RAD and LAMDA preparation in its private lessons, and Curtain Up says its LAMDA classes prepare students for graded examinations and certificates. If an exam board such as LAMDA matters to you, ask the school which board, which grades and where the exams take place.
  • Who teaches? Ask about teachers’ training and stage experience, and whether the same teacher stays for the whole term.
  • What does it cost in total? Ask for the full term fee, any registration, costume or showcase fees, and the policy on missed classes.

Acting classes in Bangkok for teenagers and school leavers

Teenagers who want more than a weekly class have two routes in this list: an intensive course, such as MasterClass Studio’s 12-week teen course with a final performance, or a university degree in performing arts, music or dance. For degrees, check each university’s admissions pages for audition and portfolio requirements, which change every year.

Where to see student and youth work

Watching a show is one of the easiest ways to judge a school. Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026 is a good place to see a wide range of local companies; our guide to Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026 has dates and venues.

Spotlights on individual schools and their new programmes will follow in our Arts & Learning section. If your school is not listed and has a working website, write to the editorial desk.

Disclosure: BKK News 24 has a business connection with Gozen Arts, which is why it is listed first. Its entry, like every other entry here, uses only facts from the school’s own website and posts.
