Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026: dates, venues and how to choose
Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026 runs 14-29 November with 103 shows at BACC, TK Park and more: venues, tickets, free shows, and picking by language and age.

The Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026 (BTF 2026), the festival’s 24th edition, runs from 14 to 29 November with 103 performances by Thai and international artists. Most shows sit on three weekends, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), TK Park on the eighth floor of centralwOrld, T. Nam Charoen Playhouse and a handful of smaller spaces around the city. This guide sets out the dates, the venues, how tickets work and how to narrow 103 titles down to the few that suit you.
The dates: three weekends
The official schedule splits the programme into three weeks: Week 1 on 14-15 November, Week 2 on 21-22 November and Week 3 on 28-29 November. At T. Nam Charoen Playhouse, Week 3 starts a day early, on Friday 27 November.
A few shows under the “Other Venues” heading fall outside those weekends. Shifting Shadows, an immersive piece by เมฆฝนการละคร, plays at 19.00 on 6, 9 and 10 November, and a free play-reading night takes place on Wednesday 18 November. For what else is on in the city right now, see This week on stage in Bangkok.
The festival began in 2002 and has used BACC as its central venue since 2015, according to the About BTF page. Artists in this year’s line-up come from Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, England and the United States, The Nation reports.
Bangkok Theatre Festival venues
The Nation, Time Out Bangkok and Lepetitjournal.com all list four festival venues: BACC, TK Park, T. Nam Charoen Playhouse and Tai Siam at Siam Square. The official programme groups the shows under BACC, TK Park and T. Nam Charoen, plus an “Other Venues” strand. None of the Other Venues pages checked for this guide names Tai Siam, so confirm the address on each show page before you travel.
| Venue | Rooms used | Show codes | Notes from the sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) | Studio and Room 401, 4th floor | BA, B4 | Rama I Road, near BTS National Stadium |
| TK Park | Learning Auditorium, Workshop rooms 1-3, Dream Square | TL, T1-T3, TS | 8th floor, centralwOrld; Dream Square shows are free |
| T. Nam Charoen Playhouse | Main theatre | TN | 943 Pracharat Sai 1 Road; Time Out lists a main theatre seating about 200-220 |
| Tai Siam | To be announced | To be announced | Listed by media at Siam Square; not named on the official pages checked |
| Other Venues | Various | OV | Includes OpenSchool’s ArtsSpace (Siam Square Soi 6, BTS Siam exit 6), Bedtime Storeys, PoA White Box Yellow Lane, Learn Satit Pattana School and Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus |
The show codes are worth learning, because the official programme lists every title by code. The first letters give the venue, the digit after them gives the week, and the three-digit number (001 to 103) is the show’s own number. BA1_001, for example, is the first show in the BACC Studio in Week 1.
What kinds of shows are on
The programme covers spoken drama, musical theatre, puppetry, mime, opera, likay (Thai folk theatre), stand-up comedy, modern dance and physical theatre, according to The Nation and Time Out. There is also experimental work that mixes music and visual art, and some productions are interactive or improvised.
A few examples show the range. The Time Machine No. 4 by TSS Drama Club is a stage play from the 10 Min Plays project of Crescent Moon Theatre. THAEN is a contemporary solo performance with live music by Wannasak Sirilar, and The Baker Family by WithLove Theatre is a musical. HAP Project’s show at BACC Room 401 combines spoken drama with hand puppets and storytelling.
Bangkok Theatre Festival tickets
There is no single festival pass in the sources checked. Each show has its own price and its own booking route, linked from a “Reservation” button on its official page.
- BACC and TK Park: the show pages checked link to an online reservation form. Listed prices include 290 baht (The Baker Family, HAP Project) and 390 baht (The Time Machine No. 4, THAEN).
- T. Nam Charoen Playhouse: a separate BTF 2026 booking site covers only the shows at this venue. You choose tickets, save a QR code, pay with it, upload the payment slip under “your tickets” and wait for staff to confirm. Prices there run from 350 to 700 baht per ticket.
- Other Venues: booking varies. Some shows link to the company’s Instagram account, Teru Teru Bozu takes bookings by online form, phone or LINE, and several are free walk-ins.
Some companies offer extra price options. Teru Teru Bozu has single, pair and family tickets (390, 690 and 890 baht), and Pituphum (ปิตุภูมิ) at Learn Satit Pattana School lists an early-bird price of 359 baht against a full price of 399 baht.
Free shows
The Nation and Time Out both say that selected performances are free. The official programme marks six shows at TK Park’s Dream Square (codes TS1_083 to TS3_088) as free entry with walk-in admission, spread across all three weekends.
Several Other Venues shows are free too. They include a play-reading night by Theatre Curry at Bedtime Storeys on 18 November, where donations are welcome. One Funny Yesterday and Tropical Blood play free at OpenSchool’s ArtsSpace on 21-22 November.
How to choose: language
Most listings do not state the language of the performance, so look for the Foreigner Friendly tag on the programme and on each show page. Lepetitjournal.com notes that shows suitable for audiences who do not speak Thai are marked this way.
Where a page is specific, it says so plainly. The Time Machine No. 4 is performed in English with Thai subtitles. Crescent Moon Theatre’s Teru Teru Bozu is non-verbal, and physical theatre such as Resonance, which is based on Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist, carries the Foreigner Friendly tag.
How to choose: length and age
Running times come from the time slots on each page. Most sessions in the BACC Studio and Room 401 run about an hour, and shows in the TK Park workshop rooms run 45 minutes. At T. Nam Charoen Playhouse, evening slots run up to 90 minutes, from 19.30 to 21.00.
Every show page checked states an age guide, so read it before you book.
| Age guide on the show page | Examples |
|---|---|
| Babies aged 3-24 months, with an adult | Teru Teru Bozu (PoA White Box Yellow Lane, 21 and 28 November, 10.00) |
| All ages | The Baker Family (TK Park), HAP Project (BACC), four of the six free Dream Square shows |
| 5 and above | One Funny Yesterday, Tropical Blood, Shifting Shadows |
| 10 and above | The Time Machine No. 4 (BACC Studio) |
| 15 and above | THAEN (TK Park), Pituphum |
| 18 and above, ID checked | VAGIVAAJAA (Thammasat University, Tha Prachan campus) |
Pages also carry content notes where they apply. The Time Machine No. 4 uses strobe lighting and smoke, Shifting Shadows asks that audiences not be afraid of the dark, and Pituphum lists nudity and depression among its themes.
Plan your festival
Start with the official BTF 2026 programme and pick a weekend. Then filter by venue, check the Foreigner Friendly tag and age guide, and book each show through its own link. If you plan to see more than one show in a day, compare the start and finish times on each page and allow time to travel between venues.
Updates come through the festival’s Facebook page (BangkokTheatreFestival) and Instagram account (@bangkok_theatre_festival). More theatre news and listings are on our Stage page.
