Bangkok theatre guide 2026: major venues, how to book, what it costs
Bangkok theatre guide 2026: the main venues from Muangthai Rachadalai to BACC, the nearest stations, how to book on four ticketing sites, current prices.

This Bangkok theatre guide for 2026 covers the city’s main stages, from the 1,408-seat Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre to small rooms in Siam Square and Bang Sue. For each venue it gives what is staged there, the nearest station where a source states one, how tickets are sold and, where a current listing shows them, what seats cost. All details were checked on venue, ticketing and media pages on 6 November 2026.
How Bangkok sells theatre tickets
Four ticketing sites cover most of the city’s stage shows, alongside venue box offices.
- Thai Ticket Major sells the big commercial and classical shows. Its current listings name its website, its own outlets, Thai Post, Major Cineplex counters and a call centre (02-262-3456) as sales channels. A 30-baht service fee per ticket applies to the Golden Show listing, and card and e-wallet payments carry a 3% fee.
- Ticketmelon is used by university, community and independent companies. Tickets arrive as a PDF attached to the confirmation email and in the Ticketmelon app; staff scan the QR code on your phone or on a printout, and may ask for ID.
- Eventpop shows your e-ticket in the app under Wallet, then Tickets. Transfers to another person work only when the organiser allows them, and once accepted they cannot be reversed.
- Zipevent is a Thai platform for buying tickets and registering for events, listing music, art, education and other categories.
Many smaller productions also take bookings through LINE, Instagram or an online form. During the festival season, check each show’s own page for its booking route.
Large commercial and classical stages
Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre
The theatre’s operator, Scenario, describes a 1,408-seat auditorium built for large-scale international musicals, also used for plays, concerts and talk shows. The lobby is on the 4th floor, and the nearest station is MRT Thailand Cultural Centre, exit 3.
Tickets are sold through Thai Ticket Major. The Golden Show All Stars Concert 2026 there this weekend is priced at 1,000-7,000 baht. Thai Ticket Major also lists The Love of Siam The Musical (รักแห่งสยาม เดอะมิวสิคัล) for 9-25 December 2026 and Moulin Rouge! The Musical for 17 August-12 September 2027; prices for both are to be announced in the pages checked.
Thailand Cultural Centre
The Thailand Cultural Centre opened on 9 October 1987, at 14 Thiam Ruam Mit Road near Ratchadaphisek Road. It has a 2,000-seat Main Hall and a 500-seat Small Hall, and the nearest station is MRT Thailand Cultural Centre on the Blue Line, according to Wikipedia.
The current khon production Sida in the Main Hall runs until 10 December, with public tickets at 600-2,000 baht and student shows at 200 baht. Student tickets are sold only at Thai Ticket Major counters, not online.
Sala Chalermkrung
This historic theatre at 66 Charoen Krung Road in Phra Nakhon stages The Hanuman Show, a 25-minute khon, at 13.00, 14.30 and 16.00 from Monday to Friday. The venue’s own ticket page lists 100 baht for Thai nationals; visitors to the Grand Palace pay 500 baht for a combined ticket that covers the palace, Wat Phra Kaew, its museum and the show.
Show tickets are valid for seven days. The box office is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00, and Thai Ticket Major branches also sell tickets. Thailandee names MRT Sam Yot as the most convenient station.
KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha
The Nation reported in 2015 that this Workpoint and KBank venue opened on the 7th floor of Siam Square One, reached from BTS Siam. It has a 1,066-seat proscenium theatre and two smaller studio spaces. A current Zipevent listing names a 7th-floor “SiamPic Hall” at Siam Square One for a 28 November fan meeting. Prices vary by production.
Arts centres and university stages
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)
The BACC at 939 Rama 1 Road is open 10.00-20.00, Tuesday to Sunday, with free admission to the building; the nearest station is BTS National Stadium. During the Bangkok Theatre Festival, shows play its Studio and Room 401 on the 4th floor, and the festival pages checked list tickets at 290 and 390 baht, booked by online form.
Sodsai Pantoomkomol Centre for Dramatic Arts
Chulalongkorn University’s dramatic arts theatre is on the 6th floor of the Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building in the Faculty of Arts, on Phaya Thai Road. Thairath gives a seven-minute walk from BTS Siam, exit 6. The department’s productions have sold tickets through Ticketmelon, and prices vary by production.
Multi-use and independent spaces
Lido Connect
The Lido in Siam Square opened as a cinema in 1968 and closed as a movie house in 2018, before most of it was turned into the event space Lido Connect, Ticketmelon says. The Nation reported plans by LoveIs Entertainment and Chulalongkorn University’s property office for three second-floor theatres, including a live house for concerts and a black box for performing arts and talk shows. Ticketmelon says 80% of ticketed events at Lido Connect have used its platform; prices vary by production.
Samyan Mitrtown Hall
Samyan Mitrtown Hall is a 5,000-square-metre multi-purpose hall on the 5th floor of Samyan Mitrtown, 944 Rama IV Road, by MRT Sam Yan. It holds up to 3,000 people and is mainly marketed for conventions, exhibitions and events. No current stage production was found there for this guide, so check the ticketing sites.
T. Nam Charoen Playhouse and Siam Square studios
T. Nam Charoen Playhouse at 943 Pracharat Sai 1 Road in Bang Sue has a main theatre for about 200-220 people. It hosts shows and workshops on an event schedule, with bookings through LINE (@t.namcharoen.playhouse), Time Out reports.
Smaller rooms come alive during the festival. OpenSchool’s ArtsSpace on Siam Square Soi 6 (BTS Siam, exit 6) hosts free walk-in shows on 21-22 November.
Bangkok Community Theatre
Bangkok Community Theatre’s current production, Legally Blonde the Musical, in English with Thai subtitles, plays the Bangkok Prep International School auditorium on Sukhumvit 77 from 20 to 22 November, at 1,300 baht for adults through Ticketmelon. Seating is unreserved, Time Out reports.
Calypso Cabaret
Calypso Cabaret, founded in 1988, presents a show by transgender artists at Asiatique The Riverfront, 2194 Charoen Krung Road. The show runs 50 minutes, and bookings go through the venue’s own site. Its FAQ asks guests to arrive at least 10 minutes early. Prices are to be announced on the pages checked; see the booking site.

Practical tips from the venues
House rules differ, so read the conditions on each listing. For the khon at the Thailand Cultural Centre, children under five are not admitted, food, drink, photography and phone use are banned in the hall, and latecomers are let in about 15 minutes after the start. Doors open about an hour before the show, and about 10 wheelchair seats are available per performance if you tell staff before buying.
Calypso Cabaret offers wheelchair seating on request, and says children under three can share a seat at no charge. For Ticketmelon events, keep the QR code ready on your phone or bring a printout.
