Swing Under the Moon: Banthat Thong's Loy Krathong festival, 18–24 Nov
Banthat Thong Road becomes a dance floor under a giant moon from 18 to 24 November, the second of three festivals run by Chulalongkorn's PMCU and TAT.
Banthat Thong Road, the food street on Chulalongkorn University land, turns into a dance floor under a giant moon from Wednesday 18 to Tuesday 24 November 2026. The festival, called วัยมันส์ วันเพ็ญ in Thai, invites visitors to try swing dancing at Swing Under the Moon, and mixes Loy Krathong with music and modern leisure, The Nation and Thansettakij reported.
Three months, three festivals
Property Management of Chulalongkorn University (PMCU) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand are running three festivals on the road with local businesses, under the banner “3 Months, 3 Festivals”:
| Dates | Festival | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 26 Oct–1 Nov | ป่าช้าแตก (Halloween) | A haunted house and a parade of Thai ghost characters (now over) |
| 18–24 Nov | วัยมันส์ วันเพ็ญ | Swing dancing on a dance floor under a giant moon |
| 25–31 Dec | สุขสนั่นลั่นดาว (Christmas and New Year) | An LED Christmas tree, temple-fair game stalls and activities for families and friends |
Thansettakij reports that the organisers expect more than 300,000 visitors and more than 160 million baht of spending in the area. These are their projections, not results.
Still to be announced
Opening hours, admission, the exact spot on the road and any dancers or teachers have not been announced. We will update this story when PMCU publishes them.
Loy Krathong night
The festival ends on Loy Krathong night, Tuesday 24 November. For the city’s main Loy Krathong venues, see our Loy Krathong 2026 guide.
